And the winner is...

I was going through boxes of my childhood memorabilia and I came across this priceless artifact. In the fifth grade during be drug free week each there was a slogan contest. Each student had to write a slogan about being drug free. I remember sitting in Mrs Findley's class room gathering up all my creative juices to come up with the best Slogan. I handed in my words and that was that. Well my catchy phrase went on to win the school competition and then the district and then the state and became the health departments drug free slogan for that year! There was an assembly and they presented me with this banner that hung in the school. So here you go folks the drug free slogan of 1993

Natural history museum

Last week the cousins met up for an afternoon at the Utah Museum of Natural History. This was our first time and I must say we were very impressed. The museum is only a few years old and I didn't even realize they had built a new one. We wish we would have brought Riley in his power chair because it was very spacious oh well next time. They have fun hands on exhibits and we got to hold a dinosaur claw, a dinosaur egg and feel fossilized dinosaur skin. One of my favorite things was you can watch the actual scientists working on fossils. I also loved all the ancient artifacts that are taken from right here in Utah. If you are looking for a fun activity I definitely recommend it. Call us we'll come and join you.

Cake Boss

I've always wanted to learn how to decorate cakes. I can never find a class on my days off and then by chance I was picking up some paper at Michaels and they had classes on Monday nights so I signed up. It was really fun even though there were these two really annoying girls in the class that always showed up late and were never prepared then on the last day of class one of them was trying to critique my cake like she was the expert. She was just jealous :) anyway I completed the 4 week course but am far from being the expert. It takes hours and hours of practice so I've got a long way to go. The last night we learned how to ribbon flowers. I sucked at it but given I had an hour and a half to learn and decorate the flowers didn't turn out too bad. Like I said lots and lots of practice. I decided to sign up for the next class which is all flowers. Just give me some time and I'm sure to be the next cake boss
